Is secretary of a business (not represented by an attorney) a "party" disqualifying her from signing a Proof of Service?

If the business is something more than a sole proprietorship, who did paperwork that needed a proof of service? The business must have an attorney, no one else can do anything. The attorney should be assisting. If not see an attorney... There are exceptions for small claims...
