Legal Question in Health Care Law in California

Medical Excuses from my doctor

Does my employer have the legal right to write me up or harass me about medical reason that are justified and excused by my physician? As long as I have writen documents that say I am being treated by my physician can they attempt to terminate my employment?

No, that would be a violation of both, state and federal law. You can start with filing a complaint with your local Dept. Of Fair Employment and Housing. They will investigate and prosecute any proved violation or give you clearance (a right to sue letter) to go after the employer privately.

If you would like to discuss further feel free to contact me.
