Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I'm a U.S. Citizen and weighing which one is better for petition. planning to get married in the Philippines, how long the petition will take for my spouse to come to U.S.? Is it true that fiancee visa is faster than spouse visa? But requires more proof?

If you have the documents to prove that you have a "real" relationship with your fiance, then I always recommend a fiance visa, & then adjustment of status in the United States. Consular Processing is just a hassle & can take almost one year, not to mention you have to deal with 3 different government agencies. However, I'm sure other attorneys have different opinions about this.

Keep in mind that with a fiance visa, you must get married within 90 days of your fiance's arrival in the United States, & then you still have to file for adjustment of status.

So, it really depends what is right for you & your fiance, since, either way, nothing is going to happen super quickly.
