Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I am in the middle of Consular Processing of an approved EB1. I am about to get my police certificate and submit my DS230. I recently married and want to change to my husbands surname before I move to the US - I have not done this yet so my current name is still my maiden name. Do I need to submit my police certificate and DS230 in my married name if this is the name I want on my green card or can I progress with my maiden name and change my name while I wait for the NVC to process these forms and inform the NVC of my change of name during that time?

It would be easier for you to use your married name from the beginning of the case, if that is the last name you legally use now & will be using once you become a Legal Permanent Resident.

I would not rely on doing a name change in the middle of the case.

The purpose of obtaining police certificate is to show your past criminal history. If you use your husband's surname on your certificate how do you expect to accomplish that?
