Asylum claims are handled by the U.S. Government, through U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.

A person must file an asylum claim within one year of entering the U.S., with limited exceptions.

A person under 18 years old CAN file for asylum on their own.

You can find more information at www.uscis.gov.

Good luck!

As a minor, you might have other options such as Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. You should definitely consult with an immigration attorney in your area to explore all your options.
