Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I am in the process of filling my naturalization form and I wanted to know about Part 7, I have been I the U.S for more than 3 years after marrying a U.S citizen. The question asks about the total number of days I spend outside US during the past 5 years. Does that includes my stay in India or only after I moved to the U.s and became a resident?

I became a permanent resident on 03/04/09.

Thanks

Ashwinder

The N-400 Part 7 is poorly worded, since the 5 year requirement does not apply to all naturalization applicants. Just list the period since becoming a Legal Permanent Resident (03/04/2009 to present).
