Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I had a restraining order against my boyfriend years ago. He had never violated or anything. Now this may sound crazy but we are planning to get marry. We were both young and stupid back then. We are together for 10 years and we know our love is real. I am not us citizen and currently living outside of the US so I'm going to apply for a fiancee visa and get marry in the US. I'm wondering what immigration is going to say about this. Is this going to be a problem in order to obtain a visa? What else can be reasons for visa denial?

Is he US citizen? Were you in country legally? There may be a problem with the visa.
