Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Auto Accident

I had an accident in January, on my way home from work, in my fathers car. The police report states the other driver was at fault. But, my license was suspended at the time. My father has been tryng to contact the other insurance agency but they have not returned any calls. Is there anything that can be done legally??

Re: Auto Accident

Don't speak to the other insurance company, at all. If you had property damage only, take the other driver to small claims court. If you were injured, call an attorney right away.

Re: Auto Accident

Try writing the insurance company for the defendant and make a demand for your own property damage, and if you were injured, for your own medical expenses and injuries. It probably is best you see a lawyer who handles personal injury cases. But it is not in your best interest for your father to discuss it with the defendant's agency, who has nothing to do with this. Another alternative is just to get all your damages together and sue the other party in small claims court.
