Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

My name is Chef Marian, creator of the ChefMarian.com blog. I am building a celebrity chef brand including a major television show idea that has never been done before. What types of intellectual property rights, privileges, etc can I register to legally protect my idea for T.V. associated recipes, slogans, and my brand in general from being stolen while attracting support from others? And in what jurisdictions would I register them? An exhaustive list provided in the spirit of an over abundance of caution would be appreciated. Thank You! Please note I already have access to non-disclosure agreements. Sincerely, CHEF MARIAN!!! [email protected]

I would need to know more about your business to give an exhaustive list, but you definitely need to protect your intellectual property and protect your brand by registering copyrights, trademarks (likely multiple international classes), and securing agreements (collaborative, work for hires, NDAs with the proper language, etc.)

I do not do this area of law, but I can tell you that must get a quality attorney with this knowledge to advise you on all these areas; you should do it now, before trouble starts. Do it right from the start. I can provide referrals.
