Normally 10000-15000 per filing, 2000-3000 per office action. Some firms charge flat rate around 7000-8000 per patent. You may be able to find someone works for equity. Let me know if you need help.

How long is a piece of string?

Patent application legal fees would run from a low-minimum area of $5,000 for a relatively simple invention to over $15,000 for a technically complex application. There is a worthwhile discussion on the Internet at http://ipwatchdog.com/2011/01/28/the-cost-of-obtaining-patent/id=14668/.

In addition, the applicant may need to pay for preparation of drawings, prototypes, etc. as well as other costs related to, but not included in, the patent attorney's duties.

The sky is the limit for contested applications, including applications that face opposition by the examiner, but especially when challenged by other patent holders.

As a Franchise Attorney I agree with the other attorney answers. The range is usually $5k to $20k, but it depends on many factors. Your best starting point is to consult with a good patent or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
