Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

ebook

Is it legal to copy articles from a forum, or website containing articles, and put them into an ebook to sell for profit?

I will be writing the names of the ones who wrote the articles so I am not claiming I wrote it.

How can I make this legal?

Rule of thumb. It is copyright infringement to use someone elses intellectual property for profit without their permission.

You have to get permission from the owner. Do you know how to contact the person and negotiate the rights?

Furthermore, it is not always necessary for an author to file for Federal copyright in order to be protected to some extent......the law of California and of many states still recognizes a degree of protection in un-copyrighted material based on common law predating the Federal copyright statutes.
