Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in California

underage relationships

I heard a new law has been in effect

recently about there being a 4 year

difference or less where its legal to

date if your above the age of 16. I

wanted to know if this was a rumor

or real.

Another question i have is if I'm

about to turn 18 and i have a 21

year old boyfriend, is it legal or is it

still illegal?

Re: underage relationships

Dating isn't what you're asking about, is it?

If you're asking about unlawful sexual intercourse (aka "statutory rape"), the legal age of consent in California is 18. Once you turn 18, you can engage in consenting sexual relations with whomever (over 18) you please.
