I am commissioned based plumber is my employer allowed to charge me for parts and tools I have to purchase through the company for jobs we also don't get paid for meetings, inspection, drive time, standby time, and over time is this legal

If you are an employee and not an independent contractor, your employer must not require you to purchase anything for your work, must pay overtime, if applicable, pay for meetings and drive time (not from your home to and from office) for driving to different customer locations. Your first step is to go try to file a claim for unpaid benefits and wages with the Labor Commissioner office local to you. Then you may hire an attorney to represent you in the hearings and trial of your claim, if you choose. Your other option is to hire an attorney to file a lawsuit directly in court for your claim. That makes sense if the value of your claims more than a couple thousand dollars.
