Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was hired as the Branch Manager of a national mortgage company 6 months ago where my job is to open, develop, grow and manage their new branch. While looking at the company's corporate website today I was shocked to see a listing for Sales Manager that was posted 7 days ago unbeknownst to me. Obviously I was not happy to see this as the company never discussed this position with me and I am in charge of the operations. In addition, two days ago the Division Manager called me and told me that he would like to hire a Loan Officer to be a co-Branch Manager with the exact same rights and duties as me. I said no way. It became obvious today that this was his plan all along and they want to squeeze me out. What are my rights and strategies? Should I bring it to their attention that I saw the listing for Sales Manager?

Your employment is almost certainly at will, which means that you can be promoted, demoted, have your duties changed, transferred, or your salary changed simply because your employer thinks it is best for the business. I see nothing here in terms of unlawful conduct on your employer's part.
