Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is there a law on having comission checks paid out on a certain date after the c

Is there a certain law in CA that the employer has to pay out their employees their commission checks(bonus)within a certain time period at the close of the month?

My employer keeps pushing the back the date of our bonus checks. I was under the imporession that the checks need to be paid out by the 5 business day of the next month.

This is starting to be a financial burden for all the sales employees.

There are laws which govern the timing of payments of wages to exempt and nonexempt employees. For these laws to apply, most likely the commission payments you are referring to must be your only form of compensation. However, if these bonuses are in addition to any monthly or weekly wage payment, timing of payments is more discretionary, and the employer's policies and practices would govern.
