Legal Question in Employment Law in California

notification of asbestos

Hi,

I got a notification from our building manager about presence of known and presumed asbestos in our building (H&S code 25915). Am I required to notify my employees?

Re: notification of asbestos

Absolutely! This is a serious issue that is a cause of serious illnesses and equally serious and costly litigation, and the more diligence you follow in notifying your employees and assuring that everyone is aware of the problem and/or even moving out of the building, the safer legally you will be.

Thank you.
