Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was offered, and accepted, a job verbally on the day of my interview, but did not get an offer letter for 10 days. Another employee with the same position who interviewed and started at the same time got a signing bonus as part of her offer letter. I did not and today I was told it was because I missed the cut off date by 2 days. Does the company have to pay me the signing bonus? The other employee received her letter in a more timely manner.

I suggest that the best way to get your matter resolved is to start your employement and then discuss the signing bonus with the human resources person where you work later on after you have done a good job. The key that you need to consider is first get a job and be in a position to retian it regardless of the signing bonus. You might get the bonus later on by being a good employee.
