if I stepped down from a position, that I was in for over a year, would I be able to keep the .20 cent differential in pay? I lost the 20 cents when I stepped down,

You quit the higher paying position because you don't like it, but you think you should get to keep the higher pay even though you don't do the qualifying work??? No way.
