Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Find Tenant new address to serve court papers

My tenant got evicted out last year on August 2007.I didn't have any of his new contact information. How to request his address from post office? I tried go to post office once but they said I need the court papers or my attorney to pick up the form. And also they said they didn't do that kind of services anymore because of customer privacy.I can't file the small claim court if I didn't serve or mail court paper to that person.

What is your suggestion? I'm from Ventura ,California. And he owes me $1,645.

Thanks.

There are a variety of services available (for a fee) on the internet. Attorneys also have access to fee-based services to track clients. Finally, you can hire a private investigator, but for $1,645, I don't see that cost being worthwhile. Try an online service.

Mr. Gibbs is correct, and has given good advice.

You might also want to turn this over to a collections attorney. A good place to ask for, or look, would be under creditor/debtor specialists.
