Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I can't get everything out of house. I've rec'd a 3 day pay or vacate on 10/4 and rec'd a letter that an unlawful detainer was filed against me on 10/25 and I found a summons on floor on 10/31. I've paid for storage units, movers and trucks before 10/22 but still have items in house. I've been living with family since 10/22 and now my family is in a hotel. While I've been out of the house I've been trying to move the remainder of my familys stuff out but I simply cant do it. Should I have just gave the keys on the 10/22 and let them give me a time to pick up my remaining stuff? Should I contact lawyer and tell this to them? I am at wits end, I dont know what to do anymore

You might contact the landlord's lawyer and work out an agreement to sign to allow you until a specified date to move out the personal property. The landlord might be willing to save money in legal fees. A trial and the sheriff's lockout could take a few weeks to line up, anyway.
