Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

itemized list of damages/ security deposit

I moved out of my house that I rented for 6 years 6 1/2 months ago. The landlord has known where I moved since the day I moved out. I just recently after all this time have been served papers to appear in court for damages said done to the house. I have never received any itemized list of said charges. On the court papers it says that they have given me an itemized list. I was told they have 21 days to supply me with these charges. Is this correct and if so what happens in court. I have not heard or received any information about this until now ? I only live less than a mile away and they stopped by my new home appro. 3-5 days after I handed them the keys to ask me where I put the knobs to the oven. that was it !! can they wait 6.5 months to do this. thanks

Re: itemized list of damages/ security deposit

I need to know more information and would like to see a copy of the complaint against you. They should address any damages to your security deposit. I don't know why they waited 6 and 1/2 months to file suit. I'll need to know more. Call me for a free consultation. (310) 806-9237. Good Luck, --Phil
