Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Promises that never materialized, and more promises they will

We moved far away from home based on pre move in promises, we had to move fast w/ limited funds. We used every dime we had on the truck, pay storage off, and for help to unload furn. We aren't unpacked yet-owner kept word on zero promises-

I cannot count the laws being broken by way of toxic deposal over a cliff, garbage burying, water contamination, unihabitable living conditions, extreme fire hazard, animal abuse-and abandoned bldgs and vehicles litter the property-we've found dead birds left to rot rather than buried-we have two small foofoo dogs-i am afraid here-today owner brought his sheep guard dog, left it, and went home-told us to hide our animals because his dog will kill them

We are in the middle of no where-surrounded by mtns on a dirt road-we have no financial resources to get out of here-

Any suggestions? I have a lung disease and came here for the clean healthy air-My Mother is 63-we are both exhausted and are frightened-and are stuck....

A lawyer can try to get the landlord to pay you back for your trouble, but it could take a lot of time. I suggest seeking immediate relief from charitable organizations for now and pursuing the landlord legally at the same time.
