If tenant damaged carpet to extent it needs replacement, can a daily holdover fee be charged for the time required to install new carpet?

The question is logical but you would be hard pressed to find a judge that would uphold such a charge. Rent lost while turning a unit would be seen as the cost of doing business. Your position would be stronger if there was extensive damage requiring a lengthy repair but carpet replacement is common and can be done quickly.
