Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

a large corporation accidentally gave me money

I have direct deposit for my pay checks from a former job, I quit. The former job gave me a serverance check when I quit, and then 2 weeks later they depostied another check into my account in the amount of $453.00. Do I have to give the money back legally?, or can I keep it?, and is there anything this large corporation can do about it? Thank you.

Re: a large corporation accidentally gave me money

If you didn't earn the money and they make a mistake by giving it to you, then they are entitled to have it back. It is your duty to return the money, both legally and morally. If you do not return the money, they can take you to small claims court to get it back.
