Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

my lawyer didnt pay the medical bills from a settlement from a personal injury case that we won. he was supose to. is this breech of contract, and what can i do about it. i have had a judgement put on me do to this , and i have tried to refi my house and they denied me ,do to the judgement. what should i do..

If the health care providers had signed liens on your case, your attorney was required to negotiate the charges and pay them. If there were no liens, then you're responsible for those medical bills. Your attorney should have told you this before the case settled, though, so that you could have considered whether the settlement was adequate, and you could have requested that the attorney negotiate those charges, as well.
