Legal Question in Mediation in California

automobile purchase, repossesion attempt

Hi, basically i purchased a used truck, and sold it already. The bill of sale states this:

party A(seller) sold the truck to party B(me) on this day for X.XX amount. Payments of X.XX monthly or sooner. Will recieve title. Then we each signed the bottom.

Party A is now saying that because i am late on payments and even though the truck is gone i owe her X.XX amount. My question is since she gave me the pink slip upon deposit and not after payoff, do i have to pay her anything after the day she gave me the pinkslip?

Re: automobile purchase, repossesion attempt

If you were an honest person, you would not even be asking this question. Of course you owe her the full amount you agreed to pay! The fact that she gave you the pinkslip before you made full payment was a gesture of goodwill, and you should have responded with the same goodwill by making your payments on time.

It's not clear what all the facts are, but you are obligated to pay the full purchase price to the seller.
