Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Navigating the Medical / Legal

The two attorneys we have consulted with in our area have reviewed the records and commented this is the worst case of ''cover your ass'' they have seen. We saw two doctors as referred by attorneys and were told they don't understand why they did such an aggressive surgery and it shouldn't have been performed. The Problem is, once the attorneys and doctors determine that the original doctors involved are the most respected in our area, we suddenly get the cold shoulder and get a letter stating ''we can't help you and we can't tell you why'' from the attorneys. We have met all SOL criteria and currently have a filing PRO PER but need to get help soon.

-My wife fell & injured her neck -Diagnosed with a neck sprain and sent to physical therapy with no results. -Initial doctor did MRI and emergency surgery ordered. -Surgery complete and after 1 week left hand is numb and there is no use from wrist down. more tests:3 wks later another surgery. Numerous experts and MRI's later, no use of her left hand and right hand now experiencing numbness. The Doctors have shuffled us off and have handed us our test results and said ''there is nothing more we can do'' How do we handle this?

Re: Navigating the Medical / Legal

Where are you located? Who were the doctors involved? What was the initial diagnosis? What was the procedure? Who has physical custody of the records? Who are the attorneys? What is the prognosis?
