Administrative Separation- Adjustment Disorder
My military psychologist recommended an administrative discharge based on an adjustment disorder at our appointment this week. I've been in for just over six months and for the past month I have had panic attacks and severe depression. She put in a request to my commander for a discharge. I was just curious about how long the process usually takes and what steps I should take to make sure things go smoothly. Also, does this mean that I will not be able to use my GI Bill??

1. To use your GI Bill, you must have served at least two years, and receive an honorable discharge.

2. Such cases can take several months, or more. Even with the recommendation, there's no guarantee the command will agree.
