Legal Question in Military Law in California

Medical Question

I'm a Sgt in the Marine Corps. I broke my ankle in Vienna, Austria and was pulled out of the hospital to save money on the budget. I was sent to Germany, and didn't get good treatment there. My ankle has been broken for over a year and still gives me problems. They're telling me that I have to get it fixed through the military, but I'd rather go to a civilian hospital. Is there anything that says I can't get looked at, or operated on by a civilian hospital?

Re: Medical Question

You can go to a civilian doctor to be examined or to be operated on. You might end up paying the bill to see a civilian doctor, however.

Re: Medical Question

No, but you'll probably have to pay for it.
