A victim to hazing, what are the options?

A new marine that had just finished MOS training, fell victim to hazing incident by 2 Cprls. After Requesting to see base psychiatrist, He was than released back to regular duty. Not being okay with this and his mental statis what it was, went UA to seek civilian psychiatrist. Having Been under care of psychiatrist ever sense, and perscribed Depakote and currently taking 1500 MG. a day . Is now in disserter status. What are his options? His psychiatrist is writing a letter explaining diagnosis, and how hazing incident and stress from the marines is a big factor in his mental state of mind. Is there another way to clear up the disserter statis other than turning himself in?

Consult outside counsel familiar with military status issues. It doesn't sound like the mental illness started with the hazing incident.

The Marine needs to turn himself in. He should have an attorney represent him throughout this process.
