Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I got in an accident (her fault-ran a stop), she didn't have enough coverage (GEICO). My insurance totaled my truck an underpaid me. There was a back injury (spinal degeneration- wasn't an issue prior). I rejected all, got a lawyer who's no help. Now the state DMV (cal) went into my checking account and took out money and penalties for truck registration. The truck was totaled (CAL-DMV letter) and they still want registration money. Is this even legal?

If the truck was totaled, and paid by the insurance company, then salvage title went to the insurer and you should not have had to pay registration. You need to find an attorney that knows what he or she is doing, not someone running a personal injury mill.

This doesn't sound right. You should get a refund from the DMV as someone apparently dropped the ball.
