Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Back in January, my friend and I drove to Stateline (Primm,NV) from Barstow, CA. in his 2003 Grand Marquis. We had car trouble and ended up having to use his AAA 200-mile towing option on his card to get back. The tow-truck driver (AAA Licensed) hooked the car up contrary to Owner Manual Instructions, despite our objections. He left a few minutes before us ( we rode with other friends), yet we never saw him on the way back. He arrived an hour after we did... The car's license plate was smashed, fenders creased, wheel wells damaged, and struts damaged. He just unhooked the car and left....Didn't even have him sign any papers. We've still, to this date, not had anything resolved from AAA or their affiliate in Nevada. What should we do?
