Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I and my four children were in a accident while riding in a taxi.The driver of the SUV that hit us was injured and me and children also just didn't require ambulance.The taxi driver was at fault and ticketed.I was told by officer in charge of the accident that the taxi driver didn't have a taxi license and was not supposed yo be transporting at all.Besides my claim to the insurance for mine and my family injury Can I sew the taxi company for negligence for allowing him to operate without chofer?
