I was driving my friends car (she was with me) in California and we got into a minor accident - fender bender with a loss of about 5K. She is suing me for damages. Do I have a case?

I assume you rear-ended the car in front of you?

If so, yes, you could be liable for her damages.

What does the damage to the two cars look like? Was she injured as well? Or is this a property damage only claim?

She needs to prove all of her damages. What does the 5k in damages consist of? I assume she has documentation?
