Your friend should see an attorney to get help in administering her father's will or trust. If your friend is in possession of her father's original will, then she must either file for probate or file the will with the court (in the county where her father resided upon his death) within 30 days of the date of death under Probate Code section 8200. If there's a trust, the new trustee has to provide a notice to all of the beneficiaries and also heirs such as children even if they are not beneficiaries within 60 days of the date of death under Probate Code section 16061.7.

As for the rest of your question concerning other papers, I really can't answer that without seeing the account statements. This is one of the reasons why your friend should see an attorney. Instead of handing over the information the sister wants right now, your friend should see an attorney first.
