Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

How long do car insurance companies have to respond to demand letters from a lawyer in Ca.?My lawyer sent it 30 days ago and have not gotten a response.The other party admitted fault and was cited.I was not.I do not want to go to court.

Unfortunately, there is no requirement that the insurance respond in a specific timeframe.

Did your attorney request that they respond by a certain date? Has the adjuster asked for an extension?

Oftentimes, claims are re-assigned to new adjusters if the demand is for a higher value than the insurance company anticipated.

Some insurance company conduct rises to a level known as "bad faith," and the insurance company can be sued for failure to respond/settle/etc. However, that requires very egregious conduct.
