Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Paying for Car Damage

17 yr old daughter backed into a car (no injuries). Man said he wouldn't go thru ins. Sent us $1350 est. What do I write on the check to protect us from him coming back for more money?

Re: Paying for Car Damage

I would not just rely upon an endorsement on the check (such as "in full settlement of all claims"), but would rather see you execute a separate agreement with the other party in which they agree to this sum being the "full and final" compensation for all claims related to the accident of XXXXX date, for personal injury and property damage and all other losses. Be sure that you get signatures from the vehicle owner of record, the other driver and all passengers or they could come back at you for more.
