Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I had sex with a man about 2 weeks ago, and then he dropped off the face of the earth (after agreeing to be in a committed, monogamous relationship with me) he then resurfaced after about a week of constant text messaging and leaving voicemails for him and he explained that he'd lost his cellphone and that was why he didn't respond to my voicemails and text messages (this is fine but I have two major issues with this 1. I do not believe that he actually lost his cellphone 2. The amount of pain and suffering that this put me through simply not knowing what was going on with someone who'd originally said that they were willing to be in a committed, monogamous relationship with me, then fell off the face of the earth has put me on a boarder line suicidal tendency in my life And has caused me a TREMENDOUS amount of pain and suffering 3. Because of my harsh reaction to him not responding to my text messages or emails, he says that he no longer wants to be in a relationship with me (this is fine but I believe that he needs to compensate me for the pain and suffering I've experienced in the past 2 weeks of my life)

This isn't a case in which many attorneys would be interested in on a contingency fee basis. Why? Insurance isn't gong to pay for this, even if he has an umbrella policy. This sounds very mercenary, but litigation isn't cheap, and lawyers don't work for free.

So unless he's really well off, you won't find a lawyer unless you want to risk your own money. And you would still have to find a lawyer who's willing to litigate a case where most of the evidence is based on "he said, she said" private conversations.
