Re: Statue of limitations

The statute of limitation is the same all over California -- 2 years for personal injury, 3 years for property damage. Please let me know if I might be of assistance.

Re: Statue of limitations

The fact that you are asking what is the statute of limitations -- something any lawyer would know -- suggests that you would consider filing an auto accident lawsuit yourself without a lawyer, or dealing with the insurance company without a lawyer -- if you have given a recorded statement to someone else's insurance company you may have already screwed up your claim beyond all hope of repair. LawGuru's forums are littered with the human wreckage of smart-aleck amateur lawyers who lost their own cases and who now ask us why they are now being sued for their medical expenses and the insurance company's court costs. Don't become one of these people. Please consult with a lawyer there in San Bernardino before doing anything else.

Re: Statue of limitations

I believe that Mr. Stone hit the nail on the head. People in general are now taught to hate lawyers and therefore, many of those involved in accidents try to avoid using us. As a result, they more times than not, end up as "human wrecks." If you believe that you're smarter than adjusters who regularly perform certain accident related functions on a day to day basis, for years, then do handle your own case. But if you believe that you're not as knowledgeable as they, then hire a lawyer rather than screw up your own case.

Good luck.

Re: Statue of limitations

2 years for personal injury. The prior law was one year. It depends on the date of your accident.
