Legal Question in Product Liability in California

I bought some trousers from a small retailer and they ripped within three days. The retailer has told me that they won't even mend them as they have 'never had any problems' before'. Do I have any rights to appeal?

Write a letter to the company's president, and enclose photos of the trousers seeking repair or reimbursement. If that fails, then your only recourse is to sue in small claims court for the value of the trousers, if it's worth your time doing so.
