Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

What is the approxiamte cost to represent me in the sale of my residential home valued at $400,000. To prepare whatever documents I am required to give the buyer or the bank, title abstract, deed, review closing statements and so and make sure everthing is done right. Can the fee's be part of the closing costs?

You don't need a lawyer for any of that in California. If you are not using a real estate agent/broker (which in my opinion is a significant mistake) you can get much of what you need to know from a good book, such as "For Sale By Owner in California," by Nolo Press. What is not covered there you shouldn't do yourself, although much if not all of the rest will be done by a good commercial title and escrow company, such as Fidelity National Title or Chicago Title. If you REALLY are nervous you can have everything reviewed by an attorney, which would incur fees of $300-$450 per hour for just a few hours work at most.
