is it legal for a landlord to give me a 3 day notice to terminate my residence due to the fact that i have 2 dogs and not give other tenants the same notice for having dogs???

The question is not what he does with other tenants, but whether having dogs violates your rental agreement. Of course, if he's discriminating against you because of a disability or race, for example, then you might have a claim for discrimination.

Probably legal if it is a violation of the terms of your lease. A landlord is not required to administer its rules equally and uniformly. Neither is the CHP officer on the freeway obliged to ticket everyone going 75. How do you know the other tenants won't be served next week, or that they haven't got a different deal with the landlord? I agree with Mr. Cohen's observation that you can't be discriminated against on the basis of race, religion, etc.and if that is the case, you have a case, but otherwise, probably not.
