Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I am the owner of the apartment building, but the mortgage is in the name of my deceased partner. What is my legal obligation to his spouse?

Pay the mortgage. How did you get title form your former partner? Was a transfer deed recorded? The security interest wil follow the property. Did you check to see if there was a due on transfer restriction in the mortgage, so that the bank may now call itas due in full?
