Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Owner's Use of rental property

The house I am renting has been sold and the new owner has kept the same rental agreement but, has moved two vehicles and a boat on the property without my permission. Does he have the right to do so? There is still parking for my two vehicles but things are much more crowded. Does he have the right to use the property as he sees fit while I am renting it?

Re: Owner's Use of rental property

He can't change the terms of the lease without proper notice, or unless you both agree to the change.

No. But if you are on a month to month rental, he can change the terms by giving you a 30-day notice. It hardly pays to fight this unless you have a lease for a longer term.
