Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Hello, I sold my home earlier this year and now the buyer is suing me for misrepresentation on the Disclosure statement. I accidentally marked yes to a item and then immediately lined it out, initialed it and chose no. The buyer has found some issues with the home that I was unaware of at the time of the sale and is demanding a substantial amount from me to resolve the issue. They state that because I choose yes then changed it to no I misrepresented myself. I feel like they say I am lying and this is absolutely not the case! What should I do?

This type of problem can quickly escalate to high stakes litigation. This is especially so if the Complaint seeks attorney fees and/or punitive damages. You really need to consult with an attorney about this. You should do this right away, as there are very important time deadlines, and evidence must be obtained and preserved.
