Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

My 8 year-old son was accused of touching a 3 year old girl inappropriately. The little girl have explicit details describing digital penetration, however my son is denying it vehemently. The mother of the little girl filed a police report. What are the ramifications here?

This is a very unfortunate story, and I am sorry to hear about your boy's plight. I do not feel that an eight year old boy could form the intent of sexually assaulting another child (but keeping in mind that they can do this out of curiosity), and having to answer to the law through my lenses could be very damaging to your son. Both 3 year old, and 8 year old children are very unreliable. It's possible that your son might have done what he's being accused of, or, perhaps a friend or family member of the girl did it, or, a neighbor, maybe she saw it on the internet, or, maybe it didn't happen at all.

Enough of my commentary. I highly suggest that you hire a criminal attorney as soon as you can because such accusations can mushroom into other things. Do not wait.

Good luck.
