Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

I recently met with a potential employer and the interview process went very well, ending with them all but saying i have the job. About a week later they started texting me using the cell phone number I gave as my contact asking for explicit photos. They have not explicitly said that if I don't do this I won't get the job, but I feel this is both out of line and potentially harassment. If I don't get the job because of this is there any legal action I can take?

It is unlawful to sexually harass an employee. Asking for photos could be deemed sexual harassment. Call an employment law attorney to discuss.

That is the strangest employment story I've heard, unless this is a sex related business, and I've been doing employee rights litigation for many years. Feel free to contact me to discuss the facts and evidence, and what your rights and remedies are. This is clearly a violation of the discrimination laws, and probably criminal harassment laws.
