Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

I recently had a woman, over the messaging app KiK, try and solicit sexual images for money. She wanted me to pay her money so that she would send me illicit images of herself. I am very offended and immediately declined. I would like to know the next step I can take to proceed in the legal process. I do have all the messages saved on my computer.

For better or for worse, the legal system is not equipped to address every form of offensive or shocking behavior. I see this as one of those cases where there really is no civil remedy. One-time conduct like this, for example, does not rise to the level of harassment.

Your best remedy may be to report this to KiK, and see if they will take action. I would also block this woman using whatever methods KiK provides, so that she does not contact you again. If you know where this woman lives, I suppose you could report her to the police or district attorney for that area -- but I doubt that filing a complaint will bring you much satisfaction.
