taking pictures of minors using camera phone

Is it illegal to take pictures of minors using a camera phone and sending the pictures to other adults? This is being done to scrutinize someones character.

depends on the circumstances. IT's generally a BAD idea. It is illegal to take pictures of ANYBODY without their consent, unless they're out in public.

Minor's can't consent anyway... so you'd need a parent to authorize the taking of the photo.

Of course if the minor is in any state of undress or in a compromising position, it can be VERY dangerous to engage in this kind of thing.

Also, you shouldn't "publish" the photos (such as on a website) for any purpose. There have been some recent cases on this subject.
