Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

in custody missed court date

My son in law is currently in custody. However he missed a court date in june and has another one in august. They told him he had to fill out a form called a cop out paper, but he said that it doesn't become active for 90 days. He will be out by then. What does he do so it doesn't become a warrent??

Re: in custody missed court date

He should notify the court in which the court date was missed that he is in custody. He could also retain an attorney to represent him. The attorney would then contact the court and arrange for him to be brought before the court.
